Studio Etiquette

RESPECT OUR COMMUNITY
We look to treat all our students with respect and create a safe space for everyone to practice. We celebrate diversity by honouring each member of our community. In joining this community, we ask you too to treat your instructors and fellow students with dignity and respect. Any conduct that compromises this, including threatening, racist or sexualized comments will not be tolerated and you’ll be asked to leave.

ENTER & EXIT THE STUDIO MINDFULLY & QUIETLY
As there may be a class in session.

ARRIVE ON TIME
If possible, arrive 10-15 minutes before class to giving yourself the time you need to check in, put away your items, roll out your mat, and gather any props you’ll need for class. Should you arrive slightly late, please allow the instructor to finish the opening meditation before entering the studio and quietly setting up your mat.

REMOVE YOUR SHOES BEFORE ENTERING THE STUDIO
By removing your shoes, you’re not only helping with studio cleanliness, but you’re respecting a space that’s revered and cherished by others. We have shoe racks outside each studio.

TELL YOUR TEACHER ABOUT INJURIES, LIMITATIONS OR PREGNANCIES
If you have an injury, limitation or pregnancy, it is important that you’ve received clearance from a doctor before engaging in any physical activity, including yoga. If it’s safe for you to practice, please let your instructor know about any limitations. We are not medical experts but this information may help us provide you with safer or more accessible variations or modifications of poses.

HANDS-ON ASSISTS ARE OPTIONAL
Some teachers offer hands-on assists to help guide a student energetically into a pose. All students are welcome to refuse hands-on assits. If you prefer not to receive a hands-on assist, or receive an assist that doesn’t feel good please let your instructor know so they can respect your personal practice.

SET YOUR DEVICE TO “SPIRITUAL MODE”
To ensure class is not disrupted, please turn off your phone and leave it with your personal items. If you must have your device nearby, at least make sure it is in silent mode and will not buzz, vibrate or ring during class.

MINIMIZE CONVERSATION
In this space for reflection, self-study, and focus, its important to many to maintain a quiet atmosphere for pre-practice meditation & centering. Once you enter the practice space, please keep talking to a minimum.

CANT STAY FOR SAVASANA? LEAVE BEFORE
The final resting pose of class is one of the most beneficial. If your schedule doesn’t allow you to stay for an entire class, please leave quietly before savasana begins.

CLEAN UP
Please return any props you use (blankets bolsters, blocks, straps, etc) back to their rightful place. Blankets should be folded neatly. If you borrow a mat, please spray it with cleaner.

ABOUT LOCATION

Elements3 is conveniently located off of Route 9 W at the Edgell Rd exit. You'll find our two studios on the 2nd floor of the 1 Edgell Road plaza. Please enter in the lobby located to the right of the nail salon to access the main staircase and elevator. The studio shares restrooms with the other businesses on the floor.

Much thought was put into the studio space as they were built with sustainable construction using all natural materials like local and responsibly harvested lumber, non-voc paints, and american clay accents that emit negative ions creating the ideal atmosphere for revitalizing your health and well-being.

The floors of our studio are lined with Japanese-influenced synthetic tatami mats. This type of flooring has a slight cushioning effect and is great to practice yoga on, providing a natural softness that eases the strain endured by the legs and knees. Unlike hardwood, tatami flooring has a little more "give" to it and students report being more comfortable when practicing postures.

Each of our yoga studios accommodates up to 20 students, but some classes are capped at 15. Both are equipped with extra yoga mats and a variety of yoga props including blocks, belts & bolsters.

Studio 1

Our first studio room is across the hall from Acupuncture Connections. The studio's main reception area and retail space is inside. Studio 1 is also equipped with 11 aerial silks; all Aerial classes take place is this studio. Please refer to the schedule to see which other classes are held in Studio 1. For student convenience we have a shoe racks outside to keep the studio clean, and plenty of hooks and storage inside to keep personal items secure during class.

Studio 2

Our second studio is to the immediate left after coming up the main lobby stairwell. For student convenience we have shoe racks outside to keep the studio clean, and plenty of hooks and storage inside to keep personal items secure during class.
