This theme of this retreat is "Clarity of Mind and Heart for the New Year." There will thus be a particular focus on meditation and self-reflection. We will use yoga as a way to prepare your body for meditation and then you will learn and practice a few different meditation techniques throughout the weekend. The other side of the coin of mental and emotional clarity is understanding the powerful tools of Non-Violent Communication. The mind is made human by the very fact that we have such a complex language. Thus learning how to speak in a way that is non-violent, both to others and to yourself, is an essential tool for gaining clarity of mind and heart. The tools of NVC are life-changing and help enrich all of the relationships you have in life.

Taking refuge in a spiritual retreat has always been a part of the natural way of life. Its a chance for you to un-plug from the digital world and re-connect with the life force that is your body and this earth. It is a chance to connect deeply with other humans instead of in superficial ways. It is a chance to be nourished by healthy food prepared diligently by buddhist monks. If you have never taken retreat before, or if it has simply been too long… NOW IS THE TIME…

Thursday:
5:30pm-6:30 Dinner
6:45pm-8:30pm Opening Meditation, Chanting, and Welcome.

Friday:
6am - 7:30am (optional) Early morning Movement and Meditation.
7:30-8:30am Breakfast
9am - 12pm Introduction to Taoist Meditation and Breathing Practice. Includes some yoga.
12pm-1:30pm Lunch
1:30pm-3pm Free Time (massage, acupuncture, nap, chat with friends.)
3pm - 5:30pm: Basics of Non-Violent Communication. Becoming skillful, honest, direct and compassionate. w/Bridget
6pm-7pm Supper
7:15pm-8:30pm Winding Down, Chanting and Healing Meditation w/Andrew

Saturday:
6am - 7am (optional) Won Buddhist Meditation Practice. (Sitting, walking, chanting.)
7:30-8:30am Breakfast
9am - 12pm Taoist Yoga, Meditation, and Self-Healing w/Andrew
12pm-1:30pm Lunch
1:30pm-3pm Free Time (healing, journaling, acupuncture, nap, chat with friends.)
3pm - 5:30pm: Practicing Non-Violent Communication.
6pm-7pm Supper
7:15pm-8:15pm Winding Down, Journaling, Chanting and Healing Meditation

Sunday:
6am - 7:30am Morning Taoist meditation practice.
7:30-8:30am Breakfast
9am - 11:30am Taoist Yoga, Meditation, and Chanting.
